but for a few short years I have the privilege of knowing them as children."

Birthday Pictures

Kyle is almost 7, Hayden just turned 5, Jared is 2 1/2 (but we needed a group shot so he got new pictures taken too) and Allison is 7 months (but we're counting these for her 6 month pictures. (Sorry about the quality - these are just the proofs they e-mailed me. I don't have the prints yet).

Hayden's 5th Birthday

Again this year Hayden got to celebrate his birthday in Utah and Arizona. He wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting that had Darth Vader and Indiana Jones fighting (he loves the Lego video games). So this is what I came up with. I never claimed to have any cake decorating skills. And I wish I could say, "At least it tasted good!" but it kinda didn't. I don't think Hayden was very impressed. When we got back to Arizona, all the Kobers came over and this is the cake Darlene made. I think this is exactly what Hayden had in mind. She is truly talented and amazing! Thanks Deedum!

Fun in Salt Lake

After we picked Clint up at the airport, we spent the day up in Salt Lake. We went to Temple Square and then to the Gateway to see the Planetarium. The next morning we went to the Open House for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple.

Sweet Pickles are Great!

We gave Sarah and Allison some sweet pickles to chew on thinking we could get some good pucker-up faces. Who would have guessed that they'd like them!

Dye Cabin - June 2009

Diana and Justin invited all the Symes up to the Dye Family Cabin up in Schofield. It was beautiful and we had a great time playing games, eating junk food, exploring outside, watching movies, taste-testing brownies, and letting the kids go fishing. Thanks Diana and Justin!
