Lions, Tigers and Bears...Can We Just Go Home Now?

We had some passes to the Phoenix Zoo that were about to expire, so we loaded everyone into the van and spent the afternoon trying to convince the boys that they were having fun watching animals sleep. Who woulda thought that animals wouldn't feel like being exciting at 2:00 in 90 degree heat? Oh well, at least it was free.

The sleeping orangutan.

We saw one monkey in the Monkey Village, and he only came out for about 2 minutes and then went back into his cage.

The sleeping Cheetah

The bored Baboon (I think this was Jared's favorite animal. He calls him Ah-Boom)

Hayden was determined to not have any fun.
"Can we just go home now?"
"Not until you're having fun!"

Kyle and Jared both liked watching the Giraffes. I, on the other hand, had a bird poop in my hair whilst sitting on the bench resting my cankles. Clint thought it was hilarious.

Jared had a blast sitting on the tractor.

Hayden thought the fake, gigantic worm was pretty cool.

This turkey took a fancy to Hayden. Wherever Hayden went, the turkey followed.

We finally got to the highlight on the day -- petting the goats! Jared did NOT like this part.

Hayden was finally having fun, so we decided it was time to go.

They spent more time playing on the big, concrete frog on the way to the exit than they did with any other animal. I guess they take after their parents - we are not really animal lovers. Especially the kind that poop.
